The Gaston Country Club is a private owned club consisting of 800 members incorporated in 1927 at 3700 Country Club Drive, Gastonia, N.C. 28056.

A movement in 1919 was started overnight to organize and build a Gastonia Country Club and golf course. The first day, a self appointed committee of two men, C.D. Gray and Joe Separk, secured subscriptions of $50,000 in stock in the original corporation called the Gastonia Country Club.  Then businessmen, lawyers, and doctors of Gastonia bought this stock without argument; no man approached refused to subscribe.  The smallest subscription was $500 and the largest was $1000.  A site was selected of New Hope Road, through which Wilkinson Boulevard now runs.  Construction began immediately.

Our Clubhouse is a very spacious 43,000 square foot brick building was constructed in 1958, which provides many private and public dining areas, along with private locker rooms for both men and women.  The course is a finely manicured Ellis Maples 18-hole golf course, and a tennis facility that is one of the finest in the county.

Dining facilities include the Casual and Formal Dining area, the Grill Room which accomodates a more casual dress and a private function terrace.  These rooms are available for use by our members fo meetings, weddings, private social events, etc.
